2011 Finite Element Analysis on Architectural Geometry

The research examines a mathematically driven surface, a klein surface, to study its dynamic properties of structures under vibrational excitation with modal analysis in Finite Element Method. It uses a structure’s overall mass and stiffness to find the various periods that it will naturally resonate at. These periods of vibration are important in terms of earthquake engineering of the building. If the structural vibration is of concern in the absence of time-dependent external loads, a modal analysis is performed.
